A Dwelling Place for Tree and Soul Lovers

The Journey of Bea Ma

Meet Bea Ma

bea Ma a.k.a. doris wolz-cohen is a licensed MFT, educator and tree lover in Los Angeles, land of the Tongva.

Growing up on a farm in Germany, bea spent a lot of time outdoors. The cycles and language of nature left a lasting impression on her. She sensed a quiet presence in the woods, alongside the stream and in the fields. Only many years later did she realize that it was creation’s Soul she sensed—an energy that pervades everything.

In 2015, looking for the Soul in nature, bea noticed PoeTrees on her walks in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles. Her two e-books “Lovers In A Tree” and “Tree Sees with One Eye” are revealing the TreePoet and story teller alive in her neighborhood. Her note to you, if you are interested, is an invitation to awaken with trees:

As a child, alone in nature, it felt safe to inhabit my body and dance. I felt met and awakened by an intelligence I wasn’t afraid of. This wasn’t always the case with people. Around them, I didn’t feel the safety I felt in nature. I was hiding with them. But, every now and then, on my grandmother’s lap, waiting for the sun to set and the night to swallow the last light of dusk, the world became so still, I could hear our hearts beat together. There was a feeling that nothing was missing. It was my first glimpse that the Soul I felt in nature could also be felt in the company of another person.

I believe it’s because of these soulful moments I enjoyed as a child that I want you to experience the nature art and poetry I am sharing with you here and in my PoeTree books. My wish is for you to get a glimpse of the Soul I felt with my grandmother and the Soul I continue to feel and enjoy in nature and with trees.

With deep gratitude,

—bea Ma
